HINSDALE – A check written by a Washington, Ill. resident rode the powerful winds from Sunday's storms more than 100 miles before landing in Hinsdale, according to media reports.

A Hinsdale man discovered the check, which was issued by a bank in Washington, Ill., in his back yard, the reports said.

Washington was the hardest hit by Sunday's severe weather as a tornado ripped through the central Illinois town, leveling homes to their foundation.

Reports of photos and documents found scattered across Illinois prompted the creation of a Facebook page dedicated to reuniting the items with their owners.
