NORMAL– St. Francis' girls volleyball team made short work of Breese Central Friday night to move on to Saturday's Class 3A state championship match.

St. Francis won 25-20, 25-10 in a state semifinal at Redbird Arena.

The Spartans (38-3) will face LaSalle-Peru (35-3), a 25-18, 25-17 winner over Chicago-Payton in the other state semifinal, in the state championship match at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Mary Boken's nine kills led the Spartans, but Kamryn Malloy (six kills), Molly Haggerty (four kills) and Becca Shearer (four kills) also contributed to a balanced attack. Daniele Messa had 12 assists, Natalie Murison 10 assists, and Lisa Mordell tallied nine digs.
