NORTH RIVERSIDE – Costco, the membership-only warehouse club for buyers who like to purchase in bulk, announced it will open its new location in North Riverside on Nov. 25, according to a news release.

The 154,000-square-foot store, located at 2500 S. Harlem Ave., will feature a variety of specialty departments, including a gas station, bakery, meat counter, deli, optical department, pharmacy, tire center and food court, among others.

Previously, the closest Costco locations were located in Melrose Park, Oak Brook and Chicago. The North Riverside location will be the company’s 19th in Illinois and 461st in the U.S.

“We are thrilled to be bringing Costco’s low warehouse prices to the resident of North Riverside,” warehouse manager Jonathan Taub said.

The company has been widely recognized for providing its workers a living wage, which are the highest in the industry, and its ethical business practices.
