WHEATON – Starting next year, Wheaton North High School will have a new principal.
Matthew Biscan, currently the school's assistant principal of curriculum and technology, will take over for retiring Principal Jill Bullo, according to a news release from the district.
Prior to his time with Community Unit School District 200, Biscan taught science and physical education and was assistant dean of students at Providence Catholic High School in New Lenox.
He holds a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and secondary education from Indiana University – Bloomington and a master's degree in educational administration from Governors State University.
Biscan said in a statement that he is “looking forward to continuing the great work that our students, faculty and staff have always done while working collaboratively to develop new and evolving ideas that strengthen the learning experience for all of our students."
Superintendent Brian Harris praised Biscan's leadership skills and relatability in the release. He said he hoped that Biscan could ensure that Wheaton North students continue to learn in a challenging, 21st century environment.
Biscan was officially confirmed as the incoming principal during the District 200 Board of Education's Nov. 13 meeting.
