IC Catholic volleyball advances to Class 2A final

NORMAL – Rory Manion carried the IC Catholic Knights to the state championship match in Class 2A.

Manion had 16 kills to lead the Knights to a victory in the first semifinal over defending state champion Deer Creek-Mackinaw at Redbird Arena Friday afternoon. IC won 25-22, 25-17 to advance to the final.

The Knights trailed 17-6 in the first game before an 11-0 run on Hannah Hartnett's serve. IC scored five straight points on Hartnett's serve in game two as well.

Delaney D'Amore had eight kills and 23 digs. Kimmy Martino had 23 assists. Kerry Mulligan also contributed 11 digs.
