Glen Ellyn to hold post-Thanksgiving cooking oil recycling event

Published: Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013 10:53 a.m. CST

GLEN ELLYN – The village of Glen Ellyn will offer its residents the opportunity to recycle their used cooking oil from Thanksgiving into bio-fuel.

The recycling event will take place from 9 a.m. until noon Nov. 30 in the Sunset Pool parking lot, 483 Fairview Ave. in Glen Ellyn.

The cooking oil should be brought to the event in a milk jug, bucket or the container the oil was in when it was purchased.

Pouring cooking oil down the drain can damage the sewer system and contaminate water.
