LEMONT – The Citgo Lemont Refinery successfully started up the atmospheric section of the crude unit on Nov. 11, according to a Citgo news release.

The crude unit was damaged during a fire Oct. 23 that required an immediate shutdown of the site. Citgo has been working to restart the unit at reduced rates while the rest of the repairs are finished.

The vacuum section of the unit has been isolated and will undergo full repairs before being restarted. No timetable has been established for the restart of the vacuum section, the release said.
