BENSENVILLE – The grand prize winner at the Benseville Rotary Club fundraiser dinner and raffle changed the game by giving the prize money back.

Gilbane Construction Co., the general contractor for the Tioga and W.A. Johnson School projects, purchased tickets for the event in support of Bensenville School District 2, and won the $2,500 grand prize at the Nov. 7 dinner and raffle.

Doug Lim, district manager for Gilbane, told the club the next day to apply the winnings to the charity.

The Rotary Club holds an annual coat drive and assists as many as 200 Bensenville children and adults. It supports student leadership through high school programs, student foreign exchanges and provides scholarships for Bensenville students each year.

Bensenville graduating seniors have received $250,000 in college scholarships from the Rotary Club.
