IC's Conenna commits to play for NIU softball

The DuPage Diamond Dawgs announced that IC Catholic junior Jessica Conenna has verbally committed to play for Northern Illinois softball.

Conenna was an all-conference selection as a two-way player in the Suburban Christian Conference each of the past two springs.

She set the school record for strikeouts in her freshman year with 184. Last high school season she posted a 1.80 ERA with 141 strikeouts. At the plate Conenna hit .475 with 22 RBIs.

During the summer of 2013 Conenna helped guide the Diamond Dawgs to a third place finish at the ASA 18U “A” Northern Nationals in Bloomington, Ind., and helped qualify the Dawgs for the Super 64 in the Colorado Sparkler College Showcase.
