Abigail Bott's cause of death released by coroner

An accidental overdose that is not alcohol related has been determined as the cause of death for Abbey Bott, according to Coroner Nicole Meyer at the Monroe County Coroner's Office.

Bott, 18, of Clarendon Hills was a student at Indiana University and 2013 graduate of Hinsdale Central High School. She was found dead in her McNutt Quad dorm building Oct. 6.

"There is no foul play suspected," read the statement from Meyer. "The Monroe County Coroner’s Office has concluded its investigation of her death. ... No further information will be released for this case."

During her time at Hinsdale Central, Bott was involved with Habitat for Humanity and Peer Buddies, which is a student-to-student assistance program at Central, according to District 86 spokesperson Kristine Liptrot.

"Just by looking at the types of activities that she was involved in, you get a sense of the type of person she was," Liptrot told the Suburban Life in October.
