Golden Eages NFC 83-pound Gold team are Super Bowl champs

The Glen Ellyn Golden Eagles NFC 83-pound football team won the Super Bowl on Saturday, beating Hinsdale 12-0 at Benedictine University.
The Glen Ellyn Golden Eagles NFC 83-pound football team won the Super Bowl on Saturday, beating Hinsdale 12-0 at Benedictine University.

LISLE – With a 12-0 victory over Hinsdale on Saturday at Benedictine University, the Glen Ellyn Golden Eagles NFC 83-pound Gold football team captured the Super Bowl.

The NFC 83 Gold Team has 17 players, 15 fourth-graders and two third-graders and six coaches. The team only gave up four touchdowns all season and in the championship game, Hinsdale had only one first down.

Team members are Jack Baer, Cooper Feinberg, Egan Foley, Ethan Kaye, Harry Kenny, Bo Kiker, Nolan King, Aaron Lewis, Jack Oberhofer, Cade Pierce, Graham Pierce, Peter Ranchero, Patrick Shadid, Sebastian Vilkama, Drake Viola, Paxton Warden and John Wild.

The coaching staff consists of head coach Greg Pierce and assistants Don Hollensbe, Chris Warden, Rob Johnson, Mike Viola and Glenn Ranchero.
