WOODRIDGE – This Saturday, Shanahan's Food and Spirit will host a pizza buffet and karaoke night benefitting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

The fundraiser will begin at 5 p.m. at the restaurant, 1999 W. 75th St., with a pizza buffet until 8 p.m. The karaoke portion will be held from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Shanahan's owner, Rich Moore, is donating all the food to allow 100 percent of the proceeds to be donated to JDRF.

Miranda Young, who came up with idea for the event, has a goal of raising $1,000 for JDRF. Young said if she meets this amount, she will chop off her long locks and donate her hair to a separate charity that provides wigs for underprivileged children.

For more information on Saturday's buffet and karaoke, contact Shanahan's at 630-985-5945 or visit www.shanahans-pub.com.
