Holly Days opening ceremony to ring in holiday season in Westmont

WESTMONT – The annual Holly Days Opening Ceremony will be at the end of this month in downtown Westmont.

The ceremony, on Nov. 30, will include a dance lesson to the Snowball Shuffle taught by Frosty at the Center for Dance, 226 N. Cass Ave., pictures with The Grinch along with appearances by Scrooge and the Nutcracker.

At about 3:45 p.m. Santa's reindeer and elves will land for pictures at the Westmont Centre lawn, 1 S. Cass Ave. until about 4:30 p.m. and then return after the parade until about 6:45 p.m.

The Frosty and Friends Parade will be at 5 p.m. beginning on Cass Avenue from Chicago Avenue to Richmond Street. The parade will continue with Santa's arrival, followed by the lighting of the Village of Westmont tree. After the parade and tree lighting, the community is invited to join Santa at the Westmont Centre for treats.
