Montini, Timothy Christian, York and IC Catholic all won over 20 matches this year. As a result, those teams are well-represented on the all-area team. Players from Addison Trail, Glenbard East and Willowbrook round out the team.

Joyce Balash

School: Montini

Year: Senior

Impact: As one of the Broncos' captains and leaders, Balash helped the Broncos win 30 matches. The middle hitter, who is committed to Lewis University, led Montini with 41 aces and 71 blocks and was also third on the team with 167 kills.

Delaney D'Amore

School: IC Catholic

Year: Senior

Impact: D'Amore has the rare distinction of leading her team in both kills and digs. Her all-around game is a big reason why the Knights are headed to state in Class 2A. She entered the weekend with 419 kills, 509 digs and also led IC with 58 aces.

Meghan Hanewall (MVP story)

School: Glenbard East

Year: Senior

Impact: The all-area MVP was a dominant hitter and a quality all-around player for the Rams. Hanewall, a four-year varsity player, was on the court for the full rotation and tallied 320 kills as an outside hitter. She also had 35 aces, 136 digs and 22 blocks.

Rachel Iverson

School: York

Year: Senior

Impact: The Dukes' three-year varsity setter closed out her career by helping York win 22 matches this season. Iverson, the daughter of head coach Patty Iverson, ran the offense for York and gave the Dukes a consistent setter as part of a veteran team.

Jenna Lodewyk

School: Timothy Christian

Year: Senior

Impact: Lodewyk missed the postseason after getting hurt in the regular season finale, but that doesn't diminish the season she and the Trojans had. The Calvin College commit had 605 assists, a team-high 65 aces and even was third on the team with 84 kills to help Timothy share the Metro Suburban Conference title.

Monica Loftus

School: Montini

Year: Junior

Impact: Loftus has major leaping and hitting ability and showed it off frequently this fall. The junior outside hitter led the Broncos with 248 kills and also contributed 38 blocks. Loftus, who plays for 1st Alliance Volleyball Club, is committed to St. Louis University.

Bridget Lucas

School: Montini

Year: Senior

Impact: It may have been easy to be distracted by some of Montini's big hitters this fall, but Lucas' defensive work kept the Broncos in matches against elite competition. Lucas had 409 digs and 22 aces from her libero position.

Rory Manion

School: IC Catholic

Year: Senior

Impact: The big-hitting Manion had 375 kills as an outside hitter entering the state tournament this weekend. She also had 44 aces and contributed 257 digs to the defensive effort for the Knights.

Kimmy Martino

School: IC Catholic

Year: Senior

Impact: Martino has big weapons to set to, but no matter who is spiking the ball, 828 assists in 40 matches is impressive. The Knights’ setter also had 115 kills, 32 blocks and 133 digs to contribute to IC’s final four appearance.

Amy Nosek

School: York

Year: Senior

Impact: York coach Patty Iverson described Nosek as the team’s biggest hitter. Nosek, who plays her club ball for 1st Alliance, ended her career as a three-year varsity player for the Dukes.

Kacie Stoll

School: Timothy Christian

Year: Junior

Impact: Stoll led the Trojans with 346 kills and was second in both blocks (24) and digs (148). The junior middle blocker will be a big part of a Timothy team that loses just four seniors after winning 28 matches this season.

Honorable mention

Addison Trail: Nina Capuani, Juliana Selvaggi

Glenbard East: Sam Bell

IC Catholic: Kerry Mulligan

Montini: Natalie Lopez

Timothy Christian: Hanna Markewycz

Willowbrook: Joanna Conley, Mia Railing

York: Molly Schlecht, Claudia Zerdin
