Retired general sharing poems from time as POW

LEMONT – The Lemont Public Library, 50 E. Wend St., will host retired U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. John Borling for a Veterans Day program from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday.

Borling will share his recently published book of poetry, "Taps on the Walls." He wrote the poems during six and a half years as a prisoner of war in Vietnam and shared them with fellow POWs via tap code.

Spaces are still available and registration is not required to attend the event. For more information, visit www.lemontlibrary.org.
