Addison health center to receive New Access Point grant funds

ADDISON – U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin, D-IL, announced Friday seven community health centers will receive grant funding, including an Addison location.

Hamdard Center for Health & Human Services NFP will receive $775,000 of the more than $4.2 million in New Access Point grant funds made available through the Affordable Care Act.

The funds are expected to expand access to care for 45,045 additional patients throughout Illinois by establishing new health center service delivery sites.

Alivio Medical Center and Asian Human Services Family Health Center, Inc., both in Chicago, will receive more than $1.3 million between the two of them.

Other health centers to receive New Access Point funding include Visiting Nurse Association of Fox Valley in Aurora, PCC Community Wellness Center in Oak Park, Heartland Community Health Clinic in Peoria and Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation in East St. Louis.
