GLEN ELLYN – The best season in school history came to an end for Glenbard South's football team.

Hosting Lincoln-Way West in the second round of the Class 5A playoffs Saturday, the Raiders fell to the Warriors 46-0.

The Raider posted the first undefeated regular season in school history and then improved to 10-0 with a first-round playoff win over St. Francis. South finished the season 10-1.

Against the Warriors' tough defensive front, the Raiders struggled to move the ball much of the game. They drove down to the West 10-yard line early in the second quarter, but they missed a field on their best scoring chance of the game.

West (10-1) struck for several big plays, including scoring runs of 91, 40 and 78 yards for running back Javier Montalvo, who finished with 310 yards rushing on 20 carries. The Warriors' final touchdown was a 30-yard pass play early in the fourth quarter.

Alex Jeske passed for 193 yards for South and Zach Smith 52 yards rushing.
