NAPERVILLE – After 22 years of service, president and CEO Susan Broad will retire from the DuPage Children’s Museum in early 2014.

Broad, 66, will serve on the search committee for the new CEO and will work to ensure a smooth leadership transition, according to a news release.

“Sue has been at the helm of the museum for two decades, guiding its extraordinary growth,” DCM Board Chairman David Carpenter said. “From a small pilot operation in a 5,000-square-foot space with two part-time staff, it has now become a nationally awarded force for early learning and one of the most-visited cultural and tourist attractions in the Chicago region."

Broad said the museum will be in good hands upon her exit.

“This is the right time to hand over the reins of this museum to new leadership," she said. “I am very grateful to the generations of staff, board, and committee members who have worked so hard to create this stellar and much-needed organization."

The DuPage Children’s Museum is located at 301 N. Washington St. in Naperville.
