Police still investigating armed robbery at Woodridge gas station

WOODRIDGE – The Woodridge Police Department responded to an armed robbery at a Shell gas station at about 9:49 p.m. Nov. 5.

The suspect entered the store at 87th Street and Woodward Avenue, where he walked behind the employee counter and demanded money and cigarettes, according to a news release.

Police said the male suspect displayed a black semi-automatic handgun and fled on foot westbound from the store. The suspect is described as a black male dressed in a black Adidas hoodie, pulled up over his head to conceal his identity.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect is believed to be involved in other armed robberies in DuPage and Cook counties, all of which involve similar circumstances, according to police.

As of Monday, the Woodridge Police Department was still investigating the incident.

Police are asking that anyone who might have been in the area at the time or who may have information on the incident call the Woodridge Detective Unit at 630-719-4740, ext. 4733.
