BROOKFIELD – A Maywood man has been charged with a felony for a bomb threat on Monday evening at a Brookfield retirement community, police reported.
Michael R. Phipps, 21, of the 1800 block of South Seventh Avenue, Maywood, was charged with one felony and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct.
According to police, at 8:15 p.m. Monday, residents at the Woodlands House at Cantata Adult Life Services, in the 3000 block of McCormick Lane, had to leave their rooms and head to the basement after Phipps allegedly signed in at the complex's front desk and wrote "bomb" as the reason for his visit.
