Letter: Roskam slowing down the government?

To the Editor:

If our U.S. Rep. Peter Roskam (R-Ill.) were interested in avoiding further government shutdown and default, he would be working to present the House with clean continuing resolution and debt limit bills.

Because such bills would pass, and Uncle Sam would remain a going concern.

Instead, as deputy vote counter for the Republican leadership, Roskam devotes his energy to thwarting the will of the majority of representatives who want to keep the government running.
