Letter: Resident glad to see county action on heroin crisis
To the Editor:
Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013 I attended the DuPage County Judicial Public Safety Committee meeting. It was attended by DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin and the head of the Public Defender's Office, Jeff York.
They were there to address the committee on the heroin overdose death problem in DuPage, after an alarming increase of such deaths was reported to the County Board by DuPage County Coroner Richard Jorgensen. 78 deaths in the past 21 months were reported by Berlin, who referred to them as an epidemic.
