Man charged after officer finds child pornography during DUI arrest

CAROL STREAM – A Carol Stream man was charged with child pornography after police discovered the porn while arresting him for reportedly driving under intoxication, according to a news release from the Carol Stream Police Department.

Erick W. Paulk, 35, of the 1200 block of Spring Valley Drive, was being arrested on Oct. 30 when the arresting officer found what he believed to be child pornography, the release said.

Carol Stream police initiated an investigation and developed probable cause to charge Paulk with one count of child pornography, according to the release.

Paulk was transferred to DuPage County Jail, the release said, where he was put into custody on a $100,000 bond.

The investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected against Paulk, according to the release.
