Glenbard West storms to first round win

GLEN ELLYN - Called the most underrated running back in the state by head coach Chad Hetlet, Scott Andrews put on quite a show Saturday.

Touching the ball only nine times on the afternoon, the senior running back scored five touchdowns in the Hilltoppers' 49-14 win over Harlem in the opening round of the Class 7A playoffs.

Glenbard West improved to 9-1 on the fall and will travel to take on Conant in round two.

Hayden Carlson opened up the scoring with a 42-yard punt return for a score early in the first quarter. Andrews then rattled off TD run of 11 and 51 yards before catching a 30-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Drew Vogg.

Andrews back that up with scoring runs of 55 and 52 yards as the lead swelled to 42-0 at halftime.

The final two quarters were played with a running clock.
