CHICAGO – Downers Grove North ran away with a first round playoff win on Friday.

The eighth-seeded Trojans shut out Whitney Young 28-0 on Friday behind pounding running attack from quarterback Sebastian Calvino and running backs Kyle Leto and Charles Creamer.

The first round 7A playoff matchup against Whitney Young marked Calvino's fifth straight start in place of the injured David Edwards, who remains sidelined with a bruised leg. Calvino recorded 15- and three-yard touchdown runs to open the scoring in the first half.

Creamer added a 76-yard touchdown sprint down the right sideline to give the Trojans a 21-0 halftime lead.

In the third quarter, tail back Kyle Leto took a Calvino pitch 57 yards for a touchdown.

The Trojans shut out the Dolphins without two-way starter Vontae Diggs, who did not return after injuring his ankle on the opening kickoff.

The loss marked Whitney Young's first defeat of the year.

Next, the Trojans will play Wheaton Warrenville South, which beat Dunbar 48-16 on Friday.
