WHEATON – Receiving contributions from all phases of the game, Wheaton North put forth a dominant effort in a 53-7 win over Glenbrook North in a Class 7A opening round playoff matchup Friday.

With the victory, the Falcons improved to 8-2 on the fall and will travel on the road next week to take on Fenwick.

The home team jumped out to a 28-0 lead in the opening half. Michael Bloss caught a pair of touchdowns passes from quarterback Clayton Thorson, who also found the endzone on runs of 39 and 10 yards.

After the visitors scored a touchdown on the final play of the second quarter, Wheaton North put the game out of reach shortly after intermission. An 18-yard TD pass from Thorson to Matt Biegalski upped the advantage to 34-7 and Dom Garza followed with a 15-yard scamper to the endzone.

Biegalski then brought out the running clock with a 60-yard punt return.

JP Forcucci closed out the scoring with a one-yard TD run midway through the fourth quarter.
