Fenwick beats Hersey in playoff opener

ELMHURST – Fenwick earned a date against Wheaton North in the second round after defeating Hersey 28-6 in a Class 7A first round playoff game on Friday night at Elmhurst College.

Running back Robert Splllane had two touchdown runs in the first quarter and the Friars opened up a 21-6 lead at halftime. The Fenwick defense held the Huskies scoreless in the second half.

Fenwick (9-1) will play Wheaton North, which beat Glenbrook North 53-7 tonight, in the second round.
