WESTMONT – After 12 years with the Westmont Public Library, Christine Kuhn has announced her resignation as the library's director.

Over her tenure, Kuhn said her main goal was to provide quality library services while guarding the taxpayer's interests.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed growing with the Westmont Public Library and the Westmont community,” Kuhn said. “It has been a privilege to work with this staff.  I look forward to watching them take the library to even further heights.”

Kuhn wants to pursue other goals, new interests and new challenges, she said.

After accepting her resignation during a board meeting Oct. 22, trustees began the initial steps of hiring a replacement.

“Christine is an innovator and came up with creative ways to expand and maximize the space at the library even while the board abated taxes over the years. The board has enjoyed working with her the past twelve years and wish her all the best moving forward,” said Amy Porter, Library Board President.

While the position for a permanent director remains open, Julia Coen will act as interim director. Coen can be reached at 630-969-5625.

The Westmont Public Library is located at 428 N. Cass Ave.
