No significant flooding in Downers Grove from rain storm

DOWNERS GROVE – There was no significant flooding or road closures in Downers Grove due to the rain storm Thursday morning and overnight Wednesday, according to the village.

Village Spokesman Doug Kozlowski said there is some standing water in roadways because of sewer grates that are clogged with leaves.

He said road crews are currently out removing leaves and other debris to allow water to flow through the grates.

He said the village is asking that residents who are physically able to assist in removing debris from grates would be a "big help."
