Author to share stories of first Heisman Trophy winner, longtime Hinsdale resident

HINSDALE – Jay Berwanger, the first winner of the Heisman Trophy and No. 1 pick in the first pro football draft, was known for his versatility, playing nearly every position on offense and defense.

Biographer Brian Cooper will share stories of this college football Hall of Famer and longtime Hinsdale resident at 7 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Hinsdale Public Library.

Copies of his book, "First Heisman," will be available for sale and signing. Guests are asked to register at the library, over the phone or online.
