LA GRANGE – La Grange Memorial Hospital nurse Candice Washilewski has earned the hospital's Distinguished Leader award.

Washilewski, a nurse since 1993 who knew she wanted to be one in sixth grade, received the award at a recent leadership institute held by Adventist Midwest Health.

Fellow nurse Kim Krenn said Washilewski goes out of her way to check in on other employees. Washilewski has also represented the hospital abroad as a participant in a 2010 Adventist Midwest Health mission trip to Costa Rica.
