Downers Grove Police looking for man who allegedly approached child near Indian Trail School

DOWNERS GROVE – A 12-year-old boy told police he was riding his bike at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday near Indian Trail School, 6235 Stonewall Ave., when a man sitting on a bench near the playground allegedly said, "Hey kid, come here."

The child continued riding his bike and had no further contact with the man, police said.

Police are looking for the man, described as white and between 17 and 23 years old. He had short, dark hair and no facial hair. He was wearing a yellow jacket or sweatshirt and blue jeans. The man was last seen walking south from the playground.

Police asked anyone with information to contact the Downers Grove Police Department at 630-434-5600 or 911.

Police asked parents and guardians to remind children to be aware of strangers and immediately report any concerns to police.
