CICERO – Young artists from Cicero will have their work on display to celebrate the Day of The Dead from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, at the Cicero Public Library, 5225 W. Cermak Road.

The young artists have been working with artist Teresa Magana through the month of October creating art and learning about the history and traditions of the Mexcan holiday. The Day of the Dead, or Dia De Los Muertos, focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died.

Special tributes will be made to community activists, including Hector Gamboa, an activist in the Chicano movement, during the event.
