ADDISON – Addison Trail recognized its October recipient of 88’s Best during a recent District 88 Board of Education meeting.

Katherine Dziabis, a senior, will have taken 10 Advanced Placement courses and 10 honors courses by the time she graduates.

She’s earned a variety of academic honors, including making the Distinct Honor Roll every semester of her high school career and being named an AP Scholar with Honors.

Dziabis is also busy with extracurricular programs. She’s a four-year member of Addison Trail’s Student Council and basketball team. She’s a three-year member of the Pay it Forward committee, volleyball team and soccer team. In the past, Dziabis has also participated in the Lettermen Club, Math Team and Psych Club.

The senior also volunteers to help out at events, including homecoming
decoration, Staff Appreciation Day, the District 88 Foundation 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, the Hurricane Sandy Relief Dance and Volley for the Cure.

Outside of school she volunteers at Holy Ghost School, Elmhurst Hospital and Addison Girls Sports Program.

Dziabis hopes to attend University of Michigan, University of Illinois, Purdue University or the University of Notre Dame, where she plans to study biomedical engineering.
