North Main Street reopening pushed back to mid-November

Published: Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013 11:28 a.m. CDT

WHEATON – Due to adverse weather, the southbound lane of North Main Street will likely reopen in mid-November instead of October as originally planned, according to a news release from the city.

The road has been blocked to southbound traffic since May because of work on the North Main Street Flood Control Project. As part of the project, crews replaced existing pipes with a bridge, widened the channel and stabilized the stream bank to help convey stormwater downstream during significant weather events.
