VILLA PARK – Willowbrook is headed for the postseason, but Brian Johnson treated the regular season finale like it could be his last home game.

The senior quarterback passed for three touchdowns and ran for two more in the Warriors’ 49-32 win over District 88 rival Addison Trail on Friday.

Johnson was 16-for-24 for 182 yards through the air. He also had touchdown runs of 13 and 21 yards.

“This is possibly the last home game we could play on this field,” Johnson said. “Obviously we wanted to keep The Lady around. That’s tough for those seniors on that team who don’t play anymore.”

Jeremy Barnes was the workhorse for Willowbrook (7-2, 5-1 West Suburban Gold). Barnes had 40 carries for 262 yards with two touchdowns, both in the first half.

AT quarterback Mike Rybarczyk had 130 yards on 18 carries and two first half touchdowns. Jim Wislek had 98 yards on 18 carries and three touchdowns.

Rybarczyk opened the scoring with an 18-yard touchdown run, but the Warriors answered on their first possession. The Warriors took a 22-13 lead into halftime and led by as many as 23 points.

Addison Trail finishes the season 2-7 and 2-4 in the Gold.

“We got a classy bunch of seniors and they’re going to do great things,” said AT coach Paul Parpet Jr.

Willowbrook will learn its playoff fate Saturday night.
