Westmont police still investigating armed robbery

WESTMONT – Westmont police are still investigating an attempted robbery at the Circle K gas station in Westmont at about 1:15 a.m. Sunday.

Police said a suspect showed a knife as he attempted to steal money from the gas station, 609 N. Cass Ave., according to police.

The suspect fled before any money was taken, police said.

The suspect was described as a white male, 5-foot-10 to 6-foot, 20 to 30 years of age, wearing all black clothing and a black mask.

As of Friday morning, the incident remained under investigation.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding this crime to contact the department anonymously by calling the crime tip hotline at 630-981-6310 or by sending an email to chiefofpolice@westmont.il.gov.

The police department reminded residents that any information may prove to be useful no matter how insignificant it might seem. If residents see any suspicious activity, they are asked to call the police immediately and provide as much detail as possible.
