WHEATON – Behind Justin Jackson and a stingy defense, Glenbard North won its second straight outright DuPage Valley Conference title with a 33-13 win over Wheaton North Friday.

The victory completed a perfect 7-0 run through the league for the Panthers, who accomplished the same feat a year ago.

"It's really unheard of (to go 7-0 in back-to-back years)," Jackson said. "It's such a great feeling because we play such great teams. There are so many great teams in this league."

Overcoming three fumbles in the first quarter, two of which the Falcons recovered, Jackson finished with 369 rushing yards on 42 carries.

He opened the scoring with a 14-yard run on the first play of the second quarter an added a 20-yard score before halftime.

Wheaton North closed the deficit to 12-7 midway through the third quarter on a one-yard run by quarterback Clayton Thorson.

But Jackson answered with a 23-yard TD run late in the third quarter and added a 45-yard score for good measure early in the fourth. Vittorio Tricase rounded out the scoring with a one-yard TD run with 54 seconds remaining in the game.

As if his offensive numbers weren't enough, Jackson picked off a pair of passes in the endzone to thwart Wheaton North drives.

Glenbard North ended the regular season riding an eight-game winning streak after losing the season opener to Geneva. Wheaton North fell to 7-2 on the fall.
