Published: Monday, Oct. 28, 2013 9:03 a.m. CDT

ELMHURST – Police will be cracking down on drunk drivers this week.

As part of the Illinois Department of Transportation Strategic Traffic Enforcement Program Grant, additional Elmhurst Police Officers will be on the roads through Nov. 2.

The Elmhurst police recommend planning a safe way to get home before Halloween festivities begin and designating a sober driver. Police also suggest taking a taxi, calling a sober ride, using public transportation or sleeping at the party location.

Police also urge residents to call police if they see an intoxicated driver on the road.
