DiCianni announces plans to run for re-election

ELMHURST – DuPage County Board Member Pete DiCianni will run for re-election he announced Wednesday at his annual Fall Food Fest event in Elmhurst.

DuPage elected officials showed their support including State's Attorney Bob Berlin, Carol Stream Mayor Frank Saverino and Oakbrook Terrace Mayor Tony Ragucci.

DiCianni, former Elmhurst Mayor, spoke about his public service beginnings at the Elmhurst Children's Assistance Foundation where he served as President and Director for 10 years. He also shared his advocacy work for children with autism.

DiCianni represents DuPage County's second district, which includes all or portions of Elmhurst, Villa Park, Lombard, Oak Brook, Oakbrook Terrace, Hinsdale, Clarendon Hills, Woodridge, Westmont, Downers Grove, Lisle, Addison and Naperville.

He is the Environmental Committee chairman, Economic Development Committee vice chairman and commissioner of the Finance, Development, Stormwater & Strategic Planning committees.

The Republican Primary Election is March 18, 2014.
