The program will honor veterans and their families while displaying an exhibit by Pillars of Honor, Inc., and Illinois nonprofit dedicated to honoring World War II veterans unable to travel to the nation's capital to see the memorial in person.

Pillars as the model on loan for a limited time before it is returned to the Smithstonian in Washington D.C.

The event is being organized by Pillars, the village of Hillside and Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 73, which will host the program at its location, 4550 Roosevelt Road, starting at 2 p.m.
