Nazareth Academy senior leads Coat Drive

Published: Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013 3:00 p.m. CDT

LA GRANGE PARK – Nazareth Academy will host a Coat Drive Nov. 6 and 7.

Senior Ryan Minik is organizing the drive along with the school's Campus Ministry. Last summer, Minik, of Western Springs, attended a week-long Peacebuilders Initiative conference, which encouraged him to pursue the coat drive.

“Ryan’s coat drive is a great example of having the mindset of service and translating it into action," Campus Minister Rosemary Caragher said in a news release.

During the drive, students will be posted at the west and south entrances to the school to collect gently used coats and jackets. All donations will go to Catholic Charities.

The drive is open to all members of the community who wish to donate.
