LA GRANGE – Lyons Township High School will hold its Hall of Fame induction Nov. 8 at the La Grange Country Club.
The Hall of Fame recognizes alumni and friends of the district who have brought great credit and distinction to the school through their accomplishments or service in the arts, athletics, business, education, public service or other professions.
This year's inductees include three members:
• Thomas W. Burke, class of 1971.
Burke is a world expert in the treatment of women with cancer at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He specializes in gynecologic oncology and reproductive medicine.
• David Hyman, class of 1979.
Hyman, professor and chair of the law department at the University of Illinois, is considered on the country's top health law scholars. A member of the American Journal of Law & Medicine Editorial Board, Hyman previously served for three years as special counsel to the Federal Trade Commission.
• Alexander "Andy" Wilson, class of 1987.
Wilson has dedicated his life to helping those who suffer from mental illness. The executive director of The Carriage House in Fort Wayne, Ind., Wilson advises organizations on how to establish recovery centers for some of the most stigmatized members of communities.
Tickets to the ceremony are $35 and must be purchased by Friday through the school's Community Relations Office, 708-579-6483. Checks can also be made payable to LTHS Hall of Fame and sent to: Hall of Fame Committee, LTHS 100 S. Brainard Ave., La Grange, IL 60525. Purchasers should indicate the number of tickets desired, at $35 each, and your choice of dinner entree, which includes chicken, beef or fish. Tables of 10 may be reserved.
