Boy band The Wanted cancels BHS visit
Barrington – District 220 officials announced Tuesday that popular British boy band The Wanted has canceled its Barrington High School visit scheduled for Wednesday.
The band cited a scheduling conflict for its cancellation. District 220 spokesman Jeff Arnett said the students are disappointed to hear the news after being promised a private, acoustic concert for the high school's Fine and Performing Arts students just last week.
In light of the cancellation, five of the BHS-TV students who worked two years ago on producing their own music video to The Wanted's track "Glad You Came" have been invited to meet the band and attend its concert at The Vic in Chicago Wednesday evening.
This is The Wanted's second cancellation for BHS students since the band had originally offered to visit two years ago after first watching the video. But then, too, plans fell through due to scheduling conflict.
