Nomination letters available for service academies applicants

LEMONT – U.S. Rep. Dan Lipinski (D-Ill.) is accepting U.S. Service Academies nomination request letters from young residents in the 3rd Congressional District for summer 2014, according to a press release from his office.

The service academies include the Air Force Academy, Naval Academy, West Point Military Academy and Merchant Marine Academy.

Candidates must be at least 17 and no older than 23 by July 1, 2014. Applicants must also have graduated from high school, taken the ACT or SAT and be unmarried.

The submission deadline is Dec. 2. Nomination requests can be submitted to Joe Bonomo in Lipinski’s Chicago office at 6245 S. Archer Ave., Chicago, Ill., 60638.
