Man sentenced for sexual abuse of Hanover Park girl
HANOVER PARK – A man has been sentenced to 13 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for sexually abusing a young girl from Hanover Park, according to an Oct. 17 news release from the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office.
Luis Pereira, 48, of Oak Forest, abused the girl, a former family member, on multiple occasions, the release said.
The abuse began in April 2002 and continued for four years at the girl's home in Hanover Park, according to the release. Pereira's actions came to light when the girl told her therapist about the abuse, the release said.
