For Community High School students, 'the show must go on'
WEST CHICAGO – One night after a performance of “Lend Me a Tenor,” the cast and crew members of the Community High School production went out for a company dinner at Steak ’n Shake.
When it came time to pay for their burgers and milkshakes – about 20 meals – they learned an elderly couple at the restaurant had seen the show and already covered their bill.
“The fact that our audience members and the people who come see our shows are impacted to that extent, or enjoy our shows to that extent, I think that’s just a simple, blunt piece of evidence that the show must go on here,” said senior Josue Munoz, who developed and directed the drama program’s video entry for the Pioneer Drama Service The Show Must Go On video contest.
