CAROL STREAM – One week after breaking his own DuPage Valley conference individual game rushing record, Justin Jackson almost outdid himself.
Gaining 356 yards on 42 carries, the Glenbard North senior scored three touchdowns in leading the Panthers to a 37-21 win over Wheaton Warrenville South Friday.
With the victory, Glenbard North improved to 7-1 overall and most importantly, clinched at least a share of the DVC title. The Panthers, who own a 6-0 mark in the league, close out the regular season against second-place Wheaton North next Friday.
A one-yard QB sneak by Brett Gasiorowski opened the scoring late in the first quarter. After a 20-yard field goal by Hector Ortiz upped the margin to 10-0, Jackson scored from 11 yards out with 3:59 remaining before halftime.
Wheaton Warrenville South got on the board less than two minutes later on a 71-yard pass from Ryan Graham to Keishawn Watson.
Jackson added touchdown runs of 18 and 80 yards in the third quarter before freshman Victor Tricase added a 76-yard jaunt to paydirt to up the margin to 37-7.
Josh Prueter rushed for a pair of late scores for the visitors.
