Downers Grove physician named president-elect of DuPage County Medical Society

Loyola University Health System physician Suzanne Kavic, of Downers Grove, was named president-elect of the DuPage County Medical Society.

DOWNERS GROVE – Loyola University Health System physician Suzanne Kavic, of Downers Grove, was named president-elect of the DuPage County Medical Society.

Kavic will help to oversee the professional organization, which serves nearly 1,000 physician members working and/or living in DuPage County.

DCMS provides legislative support for physicians, educational and social opportunities, peer-review mediation, physician member and office manager newsletters and a community physician referral service. The organization is affiliated with the Illinois State Medical Society.

Kavic was recently elected as a trustee of the ISMS. She serves as board consultant to the ISMS Council on Education and Health Workforce and the ISMS Committee on CME Accreditation for 2013-14. She served on the ISMS Committee on CME Accreditation from 2011-12, and on the Council on Communications in 2013.

Kavic is an oral board examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and American Society for Reproductive Medicine.

She also has been a longtime volunteer with HealthRight International, a global health and human rights organization.
