LT on lockdown while police investigate suspicious noise, nothing to suggest gunshots at this time

LA GRANGE – Lyons Township High School's North Campus was put into lock down at 4:10 p.m., a message on the school's website read.

A lock down was put in place for a suspicious noise, possibly gunshots, according to the statement.

However, LT's Superintendent Dr. Timothy Kilrea also posted a statement that read, "There is nothing to substantiate the report of gunshots at this time." 

La Grange police immediately responded to the school and took control of the situation. Police are doing a thourough sweep of the school at this time. 

According to website, there are no reports of injuries, all students, staff and visitors are reported to be safe and there is no damage to the school building. 

Students on the campus at the time of the lock down have been cleared to depart with parents, drive themselves home or walk to neighborhood homes after signing out with a staff member. 

All afterschool and community events were canceled for the evening.
